About
Carly is a wildlife biologist whose love of conservation manifests itself in photography. She considers herself a scientist first and a photographer second. Her passion and expertise in ecology, ecotourism, marine conservation, and sustainability reveal themselves in every shot. She’s spent countless hours in Amazonian field stations and aboard 100-ton catamarans. Between insect bites and bouts of seasickness, she finds time to pull out her camera.
Venturing further down each trail and off the beaten path reveals things in nature that are often overlooked. There’s a breathtaking beauty in nature’s details: the vibrant colors of a puffin’s beak or the snow caught in a bison’s dense fur. Carly brings this perspective to every photoshoot.
Carly’s photography experiments with storytelling as a form of conservation. Her consulting experience in corporate sustainability uniquely qualifies her to translate environmental complexities into something tangible and actionable. As climate change’s impact on our planet is continuously silenced, these images cannot be ignored. She has traveled around the world to see nature at its wildest: tigers in India, brown bears in Montana, and puffins in Iceland. Enchanting and hyper-focused images of wildlife play a vital role in nature-based learning. Reading about the human impact on Bengal tiger habits in India impacts the reader, but an image of this majestic creature resting on the pavement enriches this narrative.
Carly is constantly in pursuit of new trails and new landscapes. She is open to research collaboration, storytelling, and photoshoot opportunities. For inquiries about specific prints, conservation projects, or collaborations, feel free to reach out via email, submit a request form, or connect on social media.
